I'm not good with fancy titles, so you get this.
[ Finally the day was over. There was nothing about this new job Bandou liked. The hours were shit, the pay was even more shit, and, worst of all, he was forced to wear this uncomfortable uniform all day. If it wasn't for his desperate need of money, he would have quit already.
But even now, as he slumped down into a seat on the subway, he couldn't get himself to put his hat or shades back on. All he wanted to do was barge in on Shouhei, take a shower without asking first, and hope the guy had some beer in the fridge for afterwards.
Yeah...that would make the day better. Bandou grinned stupidly to himself as he cradled his hat in his hands. Maybe the rest of the day would be okay, now that he was off work. ]

His eyes shot open from a sudden jerk in the ttrain, and he glanced over at the station they were at, hoping he hadn't missed his stop, when something caught his eye.
Or rather someone.
He was older, as to be expected, but he looked quite similar to his older brother and his father...just a younger version of both he supposed. ]
...Saburouta?

So Bandou looked up from where he'd been staring out the train car's window, only to find that the person addressing him was someone he hadn't spoken to in just over four years. ]
...eh??
[ He stared at his brother for a good, long minute, a million memories suddenly rushing back to him, when the train car swayed to a halt. No...this was not how he wanted the rest of his day to go. So as the other passengers shifted around to deboard the train, Bandou wormed his way in between them, trying to put his hat and sunglasses on, in the process.
Just get out on the platform and maybe he'll forget he saw you. ]
no subject
Wait! Saburouta!
[ It doesn't take long for the crowd to thin out and he reaches for and grabs the mans wrist. ]
Don't just run off like that! Don't you know who I am?
no subject
Of course I know who you are. What do you want?
no subject
[ He began to calm down but that snappish attitude of that question and that jerking arm made him just grip it even tighter. ]
What do...What do I want? I want to know why my little brother hasn't spoken to me, his older brother, his father or even his own mother in over four years! I want to know why he decided to drop off the face of the earth and run away from his family! That's what I want from you, Saburouta.
no subject
I...what?? I shouldn't have to contact any of you! You should all be the ones trying to find me!
[ He gritted his teeth as he looked to the side. He hadn't gotten his glasses on before Niouta caught up with him, and he didn't even want to know how badly his feelings were showing on his face. ]
no subject
[ He frowns at the look Saburouta was giving him. This all came out in concerned anger, having to deal with the after effects of his baby brothers choice of just leaving without a reason why. ]
Do you have any idea how much distress you caused for Mother? For everyone in this family because of your childish act? Just what have you been doing for these four years that was so important for abandoning your family? Huh?
no subject
[ But at the mention of their mother, Bandou paused, swallowing heavily. Her criticism probably hurt the most out of all of them. But he wasn't gonna let himself get upset... ]
Don't make this sound like it's my fault... None of you actually wanted me there, to begin with. Not even Mother...

We were trying to push you to stop being lazy, to get rid of those useless hobbies and do something with you're life and you ran away like a coward. How is it our fault that we were trying to lead you to a path of success instead of what you are now? What? A waiter?
Are you going to be like that for the rest of your life? What about a girlfriend and settling down? Having children and having a house? Bet with how you've made yourself you can't even have an apartment by yourself.
no subject
And what's wrong with any of that?! Why couldn't any of you let me just be who I am without you trying to shove this 'perfect life' on me?!
I tried to do what Father wanted, but you and Ichirou had to be better than me at every single thing. Even if I got a good marks, it was never enough cause you two were perfect. Even now you still think I'm a failure...
1/2
You had so much potential, Saburouta, why can't you see that? They were just trying to help, we were all just trying to--
2/2
He was not expecting to see some random guy grabbing hold of Bandou, yelling at him.
It didn't matter because his instincts took hold, last time he saw something like this Totsuka had died, he wasn't going to let another Homra member join him.
He ran over, grabbed the guy by his back collar and pulled him loose off of Bandou, knife in hand and to his throat, the other grabbing his shirt. ]
You have five seconds to leave.
[ Eric, one does not pull a knife on someone in a public area with people watching. ]
no subject
Eh, Eric?
[ Thankfully, it takes Bandou less than five seconds to process what's going down. He has no idea where Eric suddenly appeared from but, as angry as he is at his brother right now, this is not how it needs to be resolved. ]
Eric, stop! That's my brother!
no subject
Bandou's...Brother?
[ Oh...
Oh did he mess up?
The knife is retracted and he takes a step back directly in front of Bandou, protecting him still in case the other tried to grab him. He was glaring at this so called brother. ]
The hell were you attacking Bandou then if he's your brother?
1/2
Are these the kind of people you're hanging out with now??
no subject
He's just being there for me. The way comrades should, the way family should.
[ He steps up next to Eric, placing a hand on his shoulder in a silent 'thanks'. ]
no subject
Bandou's family wasn't there for him...And that made Eric a bit angry. ]
Better then hanging out with someone who doesn't respect him. Why take a worthless brother who throws away what they think is beneath them?
He deserves better. You're just pathetic.
no subject
Niouta, shut the hell up!
You know, Eric's only just joined HOMRA and he's already willing to do anything to make sure we're all safe and happy and respected. Yet I've been trying my entire life to get you and Ichirou and Father to show me any of that! There's a big difference between encouraging someone to do their best and making them feel worthless for not living up to ridiculous expectations.
no subject
Eric stared at the man until he heard some shouts, looking away he saw two what seemed to be police officers or train security. Oh yeah, he pulled out a knife in a normal environment. Whoops. ]
Bandou, we've got to go.
[ He wanted to start running to head over to the other exit, but he didn't want to leave Bandou behind ]
no subject
Damnit...
[ Eric was right, they had to get out of there. Bandou gives a short glance to Niouta, silently saying, 'don't rat us out and ruin this life for me, too'. Then the two of them are booking it out of the train station.
Once they think they're in the clear, Bandou gives Eric a smack on the head. ]
Idiot. Don't go pulling your knife out like that in public.
no subject
Until he feels the hit on his head. ]
Sorry, I thought it was the Colourless King! I didn't... [ Want to lose someone else... but he trailed off. ] I was worried okay? You never said you had a brother before, what was I suppose to do?
no subject
I have two of them. And Niouta could never be the Colourless King, he's too damn perfect.
[ He pauses, finally slipping his sunglasses back on. ]
But uh, yeah thanks. Next time, just punch him in the face, instead.
no subject
Can anyone be perfect?
[ He gives a shrug, he had just reacted, it was lucky it wasn't as bad as it could've been or else he might've just killed him then and there. ]
I'll know for next time.
no subject
[ Sorry, Eric. Niouta finding him really fucked up his entire day, so he's gonna rant. Maybe Bandou's pettiness makes more sense now? ]
And now the asshole wants to make me feel bad for running away. It was their fault to begin with!
no subject
[ No he was kind of seeing that now, he was learning a lot about Bandou today. ]
Their fault?
no subject
[ He emphasizes the last one as if it's the most important of them all. ]
And since they were so perfect, I was expected to be perfect too. But how the hell am I supposed to please Father when they beat me at everything and make it impossible?!
no subject
[ It didn't really matter what it sounded like though. Bandou was forced to be someone he wasn't because of his brothers and his parents, and that didn't sound like a very good time to be in. ]
Not much of a father or family, if they can't love their son for who he is.
no subject
Yeah...
That's why I joined HOMRA. It's so much better here with you guys.
no subject
You're a good guy, I'm glad you're in Homra. Family doesn't mean blood, it just means being around those that care about you.
no subject
Thank, Eric. Just wish Niouta would get it through his head. We used to be really close when we were little.
no subject
You stood up for yourself, he saw that. If that doesn't change his mind then he's not worth thinking over.
[ Which was a lot easier said then done, but it would help Bandou to forget people that hurt him in his life, even if they were family. ]
We should keep moving, maybe head back. If you're up to it.
no subject
[ He pushes himself up from the wall he was leaning on, shoves his hands in his pockets and starts walking in the direction of the bar. ]
And thanks again.
no subject
[ He follows after him, slightly behind.
Ah, compliments, those are hard to handle. He shrugs, looking away. ]
You would've done the same.
no subject
[ Said all too proud. And compliments are great, Eric. What are you on? ]
Though, maybe without the knife.
[ Nope, he'd just throw himself in the way of the danger. ]
no subject
Heh, do you know how to even use one?
[ Besides tonfas that can bruise, knives can slice and kill, ]
no subject
no subject
[ Homra always seemed to use fists or blunt objects never anything with a sharp edge. ]
no subject
Tch Shut up. How hard could that be anyway?
no subject
no subject
[ Yeah let's not give him a knife any time soon, if that's the case. ]
Still probably makes more sense to use our red aura.
no subject
[ He shrugs ]
Then your brother would've had some bad burns.
no subject
Surprised I didn't burn him.
no subject
no subject
He pisses me off so much, he's lucky it didn't just happen.
no subject
[ He tilts his head as they continue walking. ]
Do families normally fight like that?
no subject
No! Shouhei always got along great with his parents!
[ Getting petty over Shouhei, instead of his brothers, is somewhat comforting. ]
no subject
Misplaced concern with stubborness, perhaps...
[ He wasn't trying to justify his actions, but it was strange to see family by blood acting like that.
Ah well, he shakes his head. Wasn't his place to guess or poke his head into Bandou's business. ]
You smell like food by the way.
